Psychedelic Doilies

Its getting crochetzy up in here.

Galentine’s Day Lapghan Free c2c Pattern

What could be more Leslie Knope than a handmade Galentines crochet blanket? This easy Galentine’s Day graphghan crochet pattern is the perfect gift to make your gal pals slightly uncomfortable by the amount of time and effort you put in.

Oh readers, you beautiful talented, brilliant, powerful musk oxes. Oxen? What day is it? Oh, only the day where I talk about the best day of the year.

Galentine's Day Leslie Knope Quote

Inspired by my ongoing Parks and Rec Crochet Along I obsessively worked on this unity quilt lapghan so that it would release in time for you to make it for the beautiful, rule-breaking moth in your life before February 13th.

I get it. You just don’t have time to make a mosaic portrait from the crushed bottles of your poetic and noble land-mermaid’s favorite diet soda. We’ve all been there. But never you fear, this project can be whipped up with plenty of time before Galentine’s Day and you can still get your normal 3 1/2 hours of sleep a night.

Galentine’s Day Crochet Lapghan

Red Heart Super Saver Yarn - Pink, Purple, and White

Materials

Of course, you can use whatever yarn your heart desires. I pulled from my personal stash for this little labor of love and used the following.

Yarn

  • Red Heart Super Saver Pretty ‘n Pink
  • Red Heart Super Saver Medium Purple
  • Red Heart Super Saver White

Hook: 5 mm (H) hook

Method

I used a mini c2c stitch, using a ch increase of 4 (instead of the normal 5) and a starting ch of 1 (instead of the normal 2). This creates a tighter stitch and eliminates the large gaps that can sometimes happen between tiles of a corner to corner project. New to c2c or graphghans? The links below might help.

Size and Yardage

My finished blanket measured approximately 27 1/2 by 33 inches large. I don’t know the exact yardage but I used 2+ skeins of white and pictured above are the leftovers of my pink, purple and 3rd skein of RHSS white.

Personally I would like my lapghan a smidge larger so if I had to do it again I might go up a hook size and possibly switch to a traditional c2c stitch that uses double crochets instead of half doubles like the mini stitch.

Also, I chose not to add a border but that could be another way to make your lapghan a little larger. Check out my Crochet Edges and Borders board on Pinterest for some edgy inspiration.
