You’re going to use these colors repeatedly throughout the CAL. In the Facebook group there is a post suggesting how many skeins of each to stock up on to get started. I’m using the I Love This Yarn brand from Hobby Lobby but these colors are pretty basic so you can find them in any bargain brand.
